Traveling north from Christchurch

Approx. 35 minutes from Redwood or Shirley.

Follow the northern motorway.
Drive over both the Waimakariri & Kaiapoi Rivers
Continue to the end of the motorway and keep driving north as if driving to Kaikoura.
Shortly after leaving Woodend you will pass a Shell Service Station on your left. Then you will see a sign saying Waikuku Beach 600metres.
Turn into Waikuku Beach Rd. Stick to this road for about 2 kilometers and after the 50km sign, take the first left turn into Kings Avenue.
At the end of Kings Avenue (1.5km) is a left turn into Queens Avenue. Just 200 meters along Queens Avenue is the right turn into Collins Drive.
Rivendell is at No.14 on the right side of the road. Drive up the long driveway, we are the two storey brick house on the LEFT. There is plenty of off-street parking.
